---For any C.E. Thurston & Sons asbestos claim where litigation is entered on the claim page you will now need to submit proof of that litigation to CRMC as a required document.  Please only enter litigation information when Thurston was a named defendant in the lawsuit.

---CRMC will adhere to the following timeframes when making Manville Trust retroactive supplemental payments:  

The first round of payments - those claims certified as “Represented & Pay” that were received by CRMC as of mid-night, March 25, 2008 will be paid as follows:

Law firms receiving paper checks – Thursday, March 27, 2008 and

Law firms receiving ACH’s – Monday, March 31, 2008.

Thereafter, CRMC will alternate each week between law firms with a filing status of paper and those law firms with a filing status of electronic or hybrid for all certifications, as well as new offers, received as of mid-night the preceding Sunday.  This rotation will start with paper filers the week of Sunday, March 30, 2008; checks going out on Thursday, April 3, 2008.

***IMPORTANT NOTICE- MANVILLE TRUST *** The Trustees of the Manville Trust, with the concurrence of the Selected Counsel for the Beneficiaries (“SCB”) and the Legal Representative of Future Claimants (“Legal Representative”), have approved effective immediately, an increase in the pro rata payment percentage from 5% to 7.5%.  On Monday, March 10th, we will implement changes to e-Claims that will: (1) automatically set the pro rata payment percentage to 7.5% for all future offers and (2) re-issue outstanding offers at 7.5%.  In addition, we will identify claims by law firm that are eligible for a retroactive supplemental payment adjustment of 2.5%.  Procedures adopted by the Trustees, with the concurrence of the SCB and the Legal Representative, regarding retroactive supplemental payments may be reviewed by clicking here.

---The C.E. Thurston & Sons Trust has approved a pro-rata payment percentage of 40%. The C. E. Thurston & Sons Asbestos Trust began paying claims in January 2008.

-Included in the C.E. Thurston documents under “S” is a listing of exposure sites which have been submitted and qualified as Thurston Asbestos sites.

This list will be updated as additional sites are qualified for publication by the Trust. Note that each site has a specific range of acceptable exposure dates. Pursuant to Section 7.7(b)(1) of the TDP, all exposure, regardless of site, must have occurred prior to 1982. If you have evidence of an earlier beginning date for one of these sites, please contact CRMC.

For claims not signed by the claimant or the personal representative, a signed affidavit is no longer required, having been replaced by a combination Release and Affirmation to be executed after an offer has been made.
