Larry J. Haden - President, Corporate Officer and Leadership Team member
Larry joined the Manville Trust in 1988, and subsequently the Claims Resolution Management Corporation (“CRMC”), serving first as Director of Information Services and later as Executive Vice President and Chief of Operations before assuming his current position as President in May 2008. Larry was a major contributor in the creation of CRMC as a multi-claims processing facility by successfully leading the organization in development of its web-based claims processing system, e-Claims™. Afterwards, Larry was instrumental in the re-engineering of CRMC, leveraging its technological advancements with a focused and energized organizational structure to provide a low cost operating environment to its parent organization and future trusts. Prior to employment in the private sector, Larry served for eight years in the United States Air Force in various administrative and management positions, including working with the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs. Larry attended the University of Maryland, European Division.
Phuong T. Do - Vice President, Treasury; Corporation Officer and Leadership Team member
Phuong joined the Manville Trust in 1996 as Treasurer and became Vice President – Treasurer of CRMC. She is responsible for overall management of the Manville Trust’s investment assets. Previously, she was the Investment Officer for the retirement plans of the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C. Her other past positions include Vice President for InterSec Research and Investment Officer for Aetna Life and Casualty’s Portfolio Management Department. Phuong is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder. She has an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Mathematics/Economics from Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
William Tomlinson- Vice President and Controller, Corporation Officer and Leadership Team member
Bill joined the Manville Trust in 1988 and served as Assistant CFO and Controller before assuming his present position. Bill has over 20 years of service to the Manville Trust and CRMC, and participated in the establishment of the Manville Trust. His responsibilities have included preparation of federal and state income tax returns for qualified settlement funds, negotiating contracts for cash management, independent audits, leases and other services, and preparation of annual trust accountings to the courts. In addition, Bill participated in obtaining D&O liability insurance for Trustees and Trust officers with policy limits requiring off-shore reinsurance. Previously, Bill was the Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Home Owners Warranty Corporation. He has a B.S. from the University of Maryland and holds certificates as a CPA and CFP.
Melissa L. Metzfield - Manager, Customer Operations
Melissa joined the Manville Trust in 1989 as a Claims Settlement Negotiator prior to assuming her current duties as Customer Operations Manager in 2001. Melissa currently oversees the claims processing side of the organization, including matrix evaluation, individual evaluation, customer service and document management. Previously, Melissa worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company as a Senior Claims Adjuster. Melissa has an M.B.A. in Management from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, and a B.S. in Management from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
Jared Garelick - Senior Attorney
Jared joined the Manville Trust as an attorney in 1996 before assuming his post at CRMC. Jared is responsible for all in-house legal services, as well as communicating with different trust constituencies. He previously worked as an associate at the Philadelphia law firm Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, as well as for lawyers in Ann Arbor, Michigan, working on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Jared has a B.A. from the University of Rochester, and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as Executive Editor of the Law Review.
